I eat CARBS. I love SUGAR.
And I also drink overpriced cold-pressed juice, live on VEGA and do colonics (TMI?). What I am trying to say here, is that balance is GOOD in every aspect if your life. For your wellbeing, your sanity and yourself.
I remember a moment in the early 2000's when the Atkin's Diet was popular, and carbs and sugar became 'dirty words'. There was an influx of no-carb this, and no-sugar that - which I completely get, but in diet, life and business - balance is key. At the end of the day, I like what I like, and there is no amount of convincing from the latest gluten-dairy-who-gives-a-fuck diet fad. Unless of course I become allergic to something, then I'd obviously need to cut that shit out (sidenote: i'm allergic to sulfur, so I can't drink cheap sulfur-y wine and dried fruits. balls). If I want to order a Tonnarelli alla Norcina from Terroni (italian black truffle shavings, homemade spicy sausage, pecorino and garlic carb-y pasta goodness), I WILL. And I enjoy it every single time. I might wait a good while before I eat it again and put in a bit extra cardio work at the gym that week.
I always say, do something you really love - and enjoy it.
Then at some point, schedule yourself to do something to offset it.
Balance is important for your sanity.
So eat the goddamn cake.
